Who is it for?
Anyone over 18, especially useful for managers, HR and First Aiders (physical). The course is ideal for individuals who would like to become an MHFAider® to gain the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health and be confident to start a conversation and signpost a person to appropriate support.
What will I learn on the Online Mental Health First Aid course?
- How to identify the early signs of poor mental health and provide first-level support.
- How to encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and supports.
- How to have a conversations with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma.
- How to use the MHFAider Support App®.
- Understand the MHFAider® role including boundaries and confidentiality.
Course Structure:
The course is structured across four live sessions, covering 14 hours of content. Learning takes place through a mix of instructor led training, group discussions, individual and group activities. Each session builds on the previous, enabling the learner to gain confidence in supporting others with a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
We strive for all of our learning content to be accessible and inclusive as possible. Course numbers are limited to 16 so our Instructors can keep people safe and supported while they learn.

Everyone who completes the course will get access to the new 3 year MHFAider® support and benefits package and membership to the Association of Mental Health First Aiders which includes:
- A hardcopy workbook to support their learning throughout the course
- A digital manual to refer to whenever they need it after completing the course
- A wallet sized reference card with the Mental Health First Aid action plan
- A digital MHFAider® certificate
