Mental toughness describes the mindset that every person adopts in everything they do. It is closely related to qualities such as character, resilience and grit.

The MTQPlus psychometric tool (developed from research carried out under the direction of Professor Peter Clough of Manchester Metropolitan University) measures these qualities, and is appropriate to many coaching (to improve performance and resilience) and selection (to ensure a good fit in areas critical for good performance) settings.

The MTQPlus tool looks at how we think, which is a key driver for the development of behaviour and attributes and can be assessed in terms of 4 Cs – Control, Commitment, Challenge and Confidence.

This is an innovative module that arms individuals with a key skill for today’s unpredictable, demanding workplace, and includes:
  • MTQPlus Psychometric report at the beginning and the end of the coaching.
  • 90 minute Feedback on MTQPlus report.
  • 3 x 90 minute coaching sessions (to include action planning) based on MTQPlus report.
  • Email/telephone support in between coaching sessions as required.
