Katharine has been working in recruitment since 2008 and Internet sourcing is her primary expertise. She has worked in both Agency and In-house recruitment teams. She loves to geek out about the tools and technology needed to find candidates.
Katharine brings varied recruitment expertise, she started her career in the energy and engineering sectors. She has since branched out to take on projects across any industry, including Management Consulting, FMCG, Telecoms, Tech, VCs, Healthcare and many more, mostly across the UK, USA, Europe and Australia.
What is your career highlight?
I peaked early! In 2010 I qualified to take part in SourceCon’s GrandMaster Sourcer contest. I got to travel to San Diego and compete against 3 other fantastic sourcers. Oh yeah, and I won!
When you are ‘thriving’ you are….
I am “thriving” when I hang out with my guinea pigs or knit something for a friend. If we meet in person, I’m sure you’ll quite quickly see how much I love knitting.
My favourite band is….
I’m going to cheat here and end up mentioning more than one artist. Semisonic have been absolute favourites of mine since I saw them supporting TEXAS at the BIC in Bournemouth back in 2001. Did you know that their front man, Dan Wilson, co-wrote “Someone Like You” with Adele? Also, “Closing Time” is about child birth 🤯
What book would you recommend?
I’m more of a TV person but, if you’re a Star Trek fan, you should definitely get the audio book of “A Stitch In Time” by Andy Robinson. Thank me later!
